Portal To Atlantis (Flooded Pedestrian Subway), Rickmansworth

My walk home from the station last night was nearly a taxi ride due to the rain. Fortunately I decided to walk it, and though the weather turned from drizzle to downpour, and I was soaked, I did discover that the pedestrian underpass was flooded.

Home for five minutes to change clothes and get a couple of bowls of Alpen eaten, then back out to shoot.

This one is with a 10 stop Haida neutral density filter on the front of the lens. It does soften things a little, yet I’m kind of pleased with the outcome. In such a tight space with odd lines (those two walls are at different angles) I went for a kind of crazy angle – hope you think it works!

It’s just a shame I didn’t get to shoot this a year ago – since then they’ve "upgraded" the lights to these clean, white fixtures. Last year they were nasty, caged, green fluorescent and much creepier as a result.

Hope everyone is well and looking forward to an incredible weekend!
